Living Large in Rome

This anonymously looking building harbours a secret. An incredible beautiful secret! An interior that is at such a grand scale that it wows, especially the common areas. The hotel rooms are more of an “ordinary” standard, if you can call a 5 star hotel ordinary 🙂 We got a look at one of the suites too (stayed here for work), with its own roof terrace. Really nice! Apparently George Clooney’s digs during filming Ocean’s Twelve. And as if the inside was not grand enough, the hotel has an incredibly beautiful backyard garden as well, a lovely spot to enjoy food and drinks. All in all a great place to stay while in Rome, had it not been for the ghost… One night I was about to doze off when loud beeps got me on my feet. The only way I can describe it is when you pick up the phone handset to make a call, and the beep you get before you press 0 to get a dial tone. Basically someone was inside my room getting ready to make a call on speaker. When it happened for the second time, I freaked out, called the front desk to have them unplug my phones, even the one in the bathroom(…). I was scared shitless!

Hotel de Russie is conveniently located in close proximity to Piazza del Popolo and the Spanish Steps.
