If you’ve been reading my blog, you know I’m not too picky when it comes to where I stay on my travels. Unfortunately this one in Tallinn barely makes the cut. Yes, it’s cheap, it’s centrally located, it’s clean, but the overall vibe is kind of “off”… Arriving at the entrance was the first hint of this not going down as the perfect choice. Front desk area didn’t help either – kind of makeshift. Staff seemed polite though, but I didn’t need much help as I had my own, personal tourist information (read: local friend 🙂 ). The hallways felt a bit…uninhabited?, and rooms are very basic – like, is this a hotel room…? For luggage storage they have luggage lockers, like at train stations, so no room for suitcases. However, adding to the positives: it didn’t feel unsafe, it’s situated just a couple of blocks away from major traffic hub, old town and shopping centres, and the breakfast was a good surprise – actually impressive, considering the standard of the hotel. Despite the negatives outweighing the positives, after the initial “shock” this became home as well.
